Why is my printer not responding to print commands from a Chromebook?

< 1 min read

  1. Check your printer connection. Make sure your printer is on, is connected to your Chromebook, and has enough paper and ink supplies.
    • If you’re using Wi-Fi, check that your Chromebook is connected to the same Wi-Fi connection as your printer.
    • If your printer is connected to your Chromebook with a USB cable, make sure it’s securely plugged in.
  2. Check if the latest version of Chrome OS is installed. If not, install it.
    • Click the Launcher icon on the Chrome OS shelf and open the Settings page.
    • Select the System tab.
    • Click About Chrome OS and then Check for and apply updates.
  3. Check your app settings.
    • Go to chrome://settings/content/printing.
    • make sure that 'Ask before printing' and 'Background printing' are both enabled.
