How do I fix a print spooler issue on my printer?

< 1 min read

Let’s get started with some troubleshooting steps for your print spooler issue:

  1. Verify that the printer power cable is securely connected to the printer and a reliable power source.

  2. Run the Printer Troubleshooter. You can find it in the Control Panel.

  3. Delete any unused or stuck print jobs. Go to the Print Queue folder to view and delete them.

  4. Clear the spooler folder. By default, this is located in C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Printers and is a hidden folder. To access it, type in ‘%windir%\System32\spool\printers’ without the quotation marks.

  5. Restart the Print Spooler service from the Services tab in the Task Manager.

  6. Check the Printer Properties for any discrepancies.
