Why is my Wi-Fi network not reaching certain areas of my house?

< 1 min read

To troubleshoot a weak Wi-Fi network, please try the following steps:

  1. Check the position of your router
Be sure it is in an elevated or central location, and not too close to walls or large metal objects.
  2. Check the power settings of your router
Ensure that your router is powered on, and the settings configured correctly.
  3. Check your Internet connection
Make sure that the modem is connected correctly, and test your Internet speed from an external site if necessary.
  4. Check for interference from other devices
Your Wi-Fi signal can be disrupted by electronic devices, such as cell phones or microwaves. Turn them off and see if this improves your signal.
  5. Upgrade your Wi-Fi signal
If the previous steps have not been successful, you may need to replace or upgrade your router, antenna, or signal extender.
