Why am I unable to connect to my home network remotely?

Here are some troubleshooting steps to try if you can't connect to your home network remotely:

  1. Check that your modem and router are both powered on and functioning properly.
  2. Verify that your wireless network’s SSID (name) is visible and that your device can detect it.
  3. Check that you are connecting to the right network.
  4. Ensure that your router’s current password is entered correctly when connecting.
  5. If you have multiple bands or routers, make sure you’re connecting to the same band as the router you’re trying to connect to.
  6. Try resetting the router, and/or rebooting and reconnecting your device.
