Follow these steps to set up a Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone:
- Ensure your device has a hotspot feature: Before you begin this process, ensure that your device has the correct feature available. This can usually be found in the 'settings' or 'connections' tab on your device.
- Enable mobile data on your device: In order to get your Wi-Fi hotspot working, you'll need to have mobile data enabled on your device. Check whether your plan includes mobile data and ensure that it is enabled.
- Set up a Wi-Fi hotspot: Once you've established whether your device has the hotspot feature, and have mobile data activated, you should be able to enable the hotspot feature. Depending on your device this could be found in the connections or settings tab, or even in the menu where you can view all applications. Select the 'hotspot' option and you will be prompted to create a name and password for your hotspot.
- Connect other devices: Once you have enabled your Wi-Fi hotspot, you should be able to see it amongst the available networks on other devices. Connect using the unique name and password that you have just created.
