How do I fix an IP address conflict?

< 1 min read

Here is a list of steps to fix an IP address conflict:

  1. Check DHCP or manual settings: Check whether the network device has a static IP address or is obtaining the IP address automatically via DHCP.
  2. Identify conflicts: Find out which devices are using the same IP address.
  3. Identify IP range: Check IP ranges configured on the network devices and make sure devices are configured to get a unique IP address.
  4. Update DHCP Server: Configure the DHCP server to not assign the same IP address to a different device.
  5. Assign new IP address: Assign a different IP address to devices with conflicts.
