Why is my phone’s Wi-Fi signal weak or not connecting?

Here are some steps to try if you’re having trouble connecting or staying connected to Wi-Fi:


  1. Check that Wi-Fi is enabled: go to Settings > Wi-Fi to make sure Wi-Fi is on.
  2. Make sure you’re in range of your Wi-Fi network. You may be too far away from the router if the connection is weak.
  3. Restart your Wi-Fi router. Unplug it and plug it back in and wait a few moments for it to start.
  4. Reset your device's network settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
  5. Check for software updates. If your software is out of date, it might cause connection problems.
  6. Verify that your password is correct. If your password is incorrect, your device won't be able to connect to your Wi-Fi.
