Why is my laptop’s hard drive constantly running?

1. Check your task manager to see what programs are running and how much memory each is using.

2. Take a look at your Startup and Services tabs, and make sure that only essential programs are running when Windows starts.

3. Check to see if there are any viruses or other malware programs running in the background.

4. If you are running a lot of applications simultaneously, close some of them.

5. Check the hard drive for errors.

6. Check to make sure you have enough available memory (RAM).
