Why is my laptop’s disk drive not recognizing some discs but not others?

  1. Check the disk drive for any visible obstructions.

  2. Check the disk for any defects such as scratches, dirt, dust or dirt accumulation.

  3. Make sure the disk is inserted correctly with the labeled side facing up.

  4. Ensure that the disk is compatible with the computer’s disk drive.

  5. Check the disk drives cable or power connection.
