Why is my laptop not recognizing a USB device after a driver update?

1. Check the USB or device manufacturer’s website to find and download the latest driver.
2. Remove all USB controllers and hubs from Device Manager and restart your computer.
3. Update chipset driver for the model of your computer.
4. Update BIOS.
5. Reset USB root hub.
6. Make sure that USB is enabled in BIOS.
7. Connect the USB device that you are having problems with to a different computer to check if it works.
