To disable the touchpad on a laptop:

1. Press [Fn] + [F6] keys at the same time. This will disable the touchpad.
2. If the above step does not work then go to the control panel.
3. Look for Device Manager and open it.
4. Navigate to Mice and other pointing devices and click on it.
5. Right-click on the touchpad devices. Select Disable from the context menu.
