Create a recovery drive for your laptop as follows:
- Insert a USB flash drive into your laptop.
- Back up your files.
Make sure to back up your files to a local drive or other removable media as your personal files, applications, and settings will be erased when you reset your laptop. - Open the start menu. Click on the
Windows logo
in the lower left corner of your screen. Then, typeCreate a recovery drive
in the search bar and press enter. - Follow the on-screen instructions. The recovery drive wizard will open. Follow the instructions provided by the wizard to create the recovery drive.
- Label the USB drive. Once you have created the recovery drive, make sure to label it with
Recovery (date)
in order to easily distinguish it from other USB drives.
