< 1 min read

Malware is a malicious software code designed to damage or do harm a computer or device. It can range from viruses, which replicate themselves and spread to other computers, to ransomware that scrambles your files and demands you pay a fee to unlock them.

  1. Update your computer's security settings, such as changing weak passwords to very strong passwords.
  2. Install or update the anti-malware software on your computer.
  3. Be aware of the type of information you share online.
  4. Always download software from legitimate sources.
  5. Read the Privacy Policy of downloaded software.
  6. Disable automatic downloads and other features that can facilitate the spread of malware.
  7. Always have a backup of important documents, photos, and videos in a secure place.
