To insert a table of contents without it counting as a page, follow the steps below:


  1. Place your cursor where you would like your Table of Contents to appear in your document.

  2. Click the ‘References’ tab at the top of your document window.

  3. Select the option ‘Insert Table of Contents.’

  4. A preview of your Table of Contents will appear in your document. Select ‘OK’ or ‘Cancel’ to confirm.

  5. When your Table of Contents is ready, right-click on it and choose the ‘Mark Table of Contents Entry’ option.

  6. After selecting the option to ‘Mark Table of Contents Entry’, uncheck the option to ‘Show page numbers’.
