To add a new member to a Teams team, you should:

1. Check if the person already exists in the directory – use the 'search directory' feature to search for the person by full name or email address. If they already exist, select 'add to team'.


2. Create a new user if the member does not exist in the directory – use the 'add member' feature to manually enter the user's first name, last name, and email address of the new member. Once that is done, select 'add to team'.
