How do I clean the print heads on my printer?

< 1 min read

  1. Create a cleaning solution with warm water and a few drops of dish detergent.

  2. Download and print a nozzle check pattern onto a piece of plain white paper.

  3. Check the nozzle check pattern to see if the lines in color printing are solid, spread, or broken

  4. If the nozzle check pattern is not satisfactory, create cleaning solution with isopropyl alcohol.

  5. Place some of the cleaning solution in a container that is disposable.

  6. Use a lint-free cloth dampened with the solution to clean the black and color ink cartridges.

  7. Turn off the printer and unplug the power source.

  8. Remove the printhead from the printer.

  9. Dip a lint-free cloth into the cleaning solution and apply the solution to the back of the printhead.

  10. Reinstall the printhead and reconnect the power source.

  11. Restart the printer and print a new nozzle check pattern.

  12. Continue with the cleaning process with the cleaning solution until the lines are solid on the nozzle check pattern.
