Here are the steps to replace an empty ink or toner cartridge:

1. Locate the cartridge holder assembly and turn off the printer.


2. Lift the printer’s lid and locate the spent cartridge.


3. Remove the spent cartridge by grasping it and pulling it straight out.


4. Seperate the new cartridge from its packaging, being careful to avoid touching the roller or printhead area.


5. Hold the cartridge by its sides and locate the metal-colored sliver panel.


6. Flip the cartridge upside down and insert the far edge of the metal-colored panel into the cartridge holder.


7. Push down on the cartridge until it latches securely into place.


8. Close the printer’s lid and turn it on to begin printing.
