Why is my computer not recognizing my Bluetooth device?

< 1 min read

Troubleshooting steps to resolve a non-recogniztion issue between a computer and Bluetooth device:

  1. Ensure the Bluetooth function on the computer is enabled and the device’s Bluetooth feature is operational
  2. Identify the type of connection method each device is using (examples: Classic Bluetooth, BLE, SSP, HID, etc.)
  3. If still not showing on the computer, check to see if the two devices use the same Bluetooth version
  4. If they don’t, try pairing the two devices with a different type of connection protocol
  5. Check if the device has been added to the computer’s list of paired Bluetooth devices
  6. If it is not listed, re-enter the pairing code on the computer and try reconnecting
  7. Ensure the Bluetooth on both devices is enabled and within the correct range of each other
  8. If any of the above do not work, uninstall and reinstall the Bluetooth driver on the computer
