How do I fix the problem of missing or disappeared contacts in my Outlook account?

< 1 min read

  1. Check the folder view – Go to the View tab in Outlook, and ensure you can view the Contacts folder in the Navigation pane.

  2. Check for the Contacts folder – If there’s still no Contacts folder in the Navigation pane, check if it is in another folder, such as the Deleted Items folder.

  3. Check for an older version of the Contacts folder – Check your Outlook Data File if you can't find the Contacts folder. If there is an earlier version of the Contacts folder, you may have restored an earlier version of the Outlook Data File.

  4. Check the file path – If the Outlook Data File is located in an incorrect path, you won't be able to view the Contacts folder. Check the Outlook Data File's path and check if it is valid.

  5. Recover missing or deleted contacts – Data recovery tools can help you retrieve the lost contacts folder in Outlook if you backed up the PST. Simply identify the backup file that contains the Contacts folder, and restore it.
