If your internet connection is not working after a router replacement, check the following items:
- Ensure the proper cables are being used. Make sure the power supply is plugged in correctly and the correct cables are plugged into the router and modem.
- Reboot the router. Unplug the router from the power outlet, wait 30 seconds, and then plug in the router again.
- Reboot the modem. Unplug the modem from the power outlet, wait 30 seconds, and then plug in the modem again.
- Verify that wireless is enabled. Make sure that the Wi-Fi light is illuminated, or if the router has a toggle button, ensure that it is turned on.
- Check for firmware updates. Check the manufacturer’s website for the latest firmware version for your router model and download if necessary.
