How do I transfer the group membership update role in Active Directory?

To transfer the group membership update role in Active Directory:


  1. Open Active Directory Users and computers.
  2. Select the group that you want to assign permissions.
  3. Right-click on the group and select Properties.
  4. In the Properties window, select the Security tab.
  5. Click Advanced and then select Add.
  6. Enter the user name of the person that you want to assign permissions to in the Enter the object name to select field.
  7. Click Check names and then click OK.
  8. Place a check in the box next to Manage group membership (or any other permission you want to assign).
  9. Click OK.
