How do I reset the security permissions on an Active Directory object?

Ensure the account you are using has the appropriate permission levels

Properly configure the Group or User Permission settings for the object

Right-click on the parent object to access the Properties menu

Select the Security tab

Select the Advanced button

Select the desired user or group from the Permission entries list and click Edit

Uncheck the Inherit box at the bottom of the Permission Entry dialog box

Configure your desired permission levels, press OK, and save changes
